Sunday Afternoon

Well unfortunately this weekend we didn't make it to the dog beach for Hannah. Josh is suffering from food poisoning that he got on his business trip. (He ate clams and oysters on Thursday night and had severe stomach pains Friday, Saturday, Sunday and even still today on Monday).

Fortunately he felt well enough on Sunday to make a quick outing to the park where he could just lay on the quilt we brought and watch Hannah play.  I also took my camera and captured a few fun pictures to share...

Lostandfound

I thought these first two looked cute as a set... kind of like she lost her ball... and then there she is all happy she found it. :)

Painted

This one is neat to me... the bottom of the picture almost looks as though it's a painting... it has a brush stroked look to my eyes for some reason?

Leaf

I thought this one was pretty too... I only focused on the leaf and the blurred background turned out so pretty. Reminded me of fall... I edited it to change the colors a bit to fit more in that "fall" color scheme...

I can't wait for fall! It has always been my favorite time of year. Maybe because I am an October baby? Halloween and Thanksgiving are two of my favorite events. (Thanksgiving for the yummy food and Halloween for the fun decorations!). I also have a ton of photo shoots planned for Holiday cards this year, so I am excited about that too! The colors of fall are my absolute favorite... so warm and comforting.

I hate to be hot and sweaty and my home office has been unbearable lately. I am soooo looking forward to the change in seasons (however slight it may be in California).

Light filled rooms

I decided to take some new pictures of my house today to share on the blog. Both my front family room and my guest room face the street and get an abundance of light pouring in during the morning hours. I love the look of the dark wood floors in the guest room when they are lit up by sunlight... so I started snapping a few pictures...

Well my kitty, Mason, decided that I must be shooting pictures of him, so he began to really ham it up.

Kittytummy

With every click of my camera, he would adjust his pose ever so slightly and hold perfectly still until he heard the next click.... it was as if he were a professional model or something.... I started talking in a sweet little voice to him telling him how handsome he was, and he kept on and on... until I started laughing at him... and then he stopped. (I think he was insulted).

Kitty

This one was my favorite. :)

I then took this picture of my front room... it's actually my attempt at recreating a picture that Woman's Day took of my home for their article that they didn't end up using in the magazine. I loved the color and perspective of the image so I tried my best to duplicate the look on my own.

Creamroom

I was pleased with how it turned out.....

Anyway, I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Dog Beach

We try to make it to the dog beach each Sunday for Hannah. She absolutely LOVES it. (Go figure - she will swim in the ocean and let waves crash over her head, but she doesn't like getting baths with the hose).

Anyway, a few times ago I took my camera. I took a bazillion pictures of Hannah and her "Uncle Ehvie" (Josh's parents dog), but I will spare you from having to see all of those! :) Instead I took these two and added a little vintage texture... there is something about the beach that goes to well with faded color and added texture...

Beachbums

I don't know whose dogs these are.. but there is something about their cute little beach "bums" that I couldn't resist.

Beachwm

Same goes for these two surfers... I don't know who they are. But they sure make a pretty picture with the pier in the background and all... Makes me long for it to be Sunday morning already!

Hannah gets a bath.

Did I hear someone say, bath time? Take cover! Save yourselves!

Guesswhat

Maybe they can't see me under here.... please Daddy, no.

Hiding_3

OH this is AWFUL! For heaven's sake, put that camera down Mom!

Help

Vintage Vibe

I have one more of Morgan I wanted to share, that I think came out very cute. She had this fun vintage style dress we wanted to use as a prop, so we created a clothesline in the backyard and staged this shot.

The lens flare and added texture gave it a really cool overall feel.

Urban Angel

This weekend my sister, Morgan was kind enough to humor me for a fun photo shoot. I wanted a urban kind of vibe... and was lucky enough to get some great new shots. I wanted to share a few of my favorites:
